Whitney Silverthorn
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)
About me
Hello, I’m Whitney! Helping others has always been a passion of mine, which led me to pursue a career in Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin. I then completed my master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Texas at Dallas, before relocating to West Texas. I have worked in the outpatient clinic setting with a multi-disciplinary team of speech-language pathologists (SLPs), physical therapists, and occupational therapists, as well as seeing clients in the home health setting and via telehealth. I have had the opportunity to work with clients ages birth to 21 years old with a variety of abilities and needs, including children and adults with autism spectrum disorder; speech sound disorders; expressive, receptive, and social language delays; fluency disorders; and users of augmentation and alternative communication (AAC). I have experience with both low- and high-tech options for AAC including PECs, Proloquo2GO, Accent, and LAMP Words for Life. I have a passion for working with my clients and their families to establish functional communication skills for expressing wants, needs, thoughts, ideas, and feelings. In addition to my passion for helping others to communicate, I have experience working with clients with feeding disorders including both sensory-based feeding and dysphagia. I love to be able to support my clients with challenges they are having in their environment and to reach their goals. My clinical style can be described as client- and family-centric, dynamic, strengths-based, functional, and individualized/personalized.

In each session, I always appreciate the time Whitney takes to work with me. I’ve come a long way since I first started and am much more confident in my speech ability. Each session makes a difference. Thank you!
