Whitney Silverthorn

Hello, I’m Whitney! Helping others has always been a passion of mine, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in speech-language pathology. I love supporting individuals and families as they build communication skills, confidence, and greater independence in their everyday lives.

My clinical experience includes working in outpatient clinics alongside multidisciplinary teams of speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, as well as providing services in home health and telehealth settings. I have worked with clients from birth through young adulthood with a wide range of communication needs, including autism spectrum disorder, speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, social communication challenges, fluency disorders, and AAC needs.

I have experience supporting both low- and high-tech AAC users, including systems such as PECS, Proloquo2Go, Accent devices, and LAMP Words for Life. I also have experience working with clients with feeding disorders, including sensory-based feeding challenges and dysphagia.

I’m especially passionate about helping clients develop functional communication skills to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings in meaningful ways. My therapy approach is client- and family-centered, strengths-based, dynamic, and highly individualized, with a focus on functional outcomes and supporting each client within their everyday environment.
