Melissa Boone

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 12 insurance plans

Hi! I’m Melissa. I’ve always been fascinated by language and how it shapes the way we connect, express ourselves, and move through the world. Becoming a speech-language pathologist felt like a natural way to turn that passion into something that genuinely empowers people every single day.

My clinical background spans a variety of pediatric settings, where I support children with diverse speech, language, and communication needs. My therapy approach is individualized, functional, and strength-based. I prioritize client- and family-centered care, actively partnering with caregivers to foster self-advocacy, confidence, and long-term empowerment within daily routines.

I am deeply committed to evidence-based practice, particularly in culturally and linguistically responsive care. I earned my master's degree from Marquette University along with a Bilingual English-Spanish Certificate. Beyond clinical service, I have conducted extensive research on distinguishing language differences from disorders and improving functional communication for bilingual populations, presenting my findings at national conventions such as ASHA. Additionally, I served as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Texas at Dallas, covering child language disorders, early intervention, dysphagia, and communication disorders.
