Shannon Archer

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 31 insurance plans

Hi! I’m Shannon. My path to speech-language pathology began after an unexpected life change led me to search for a career that was both meaningful and sustainable for my family. Having previously worked in social services, I knew I wanted to continue helping others, but I was looking for a way to make a lasting impact. When I learned about speech-language pathology, I was immediately drawn to the opportunity to empower individuals through communication. What started as a new career path quickly became a true calling.

My clinical experience spans schools, private practice, and teletherapy settings, where I’ve supported individuals with a wide range of communication needs across the lifespan. Over the years, I’ve developed particular expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), helping clients build functional communication skills that support participation in everyday life.

I’m passionate about clinician education and have presented nationally and regionally on AAC implementation, functional AAC activities, and evidence-based support for children with CAS. I have advanced training in childhood apraxia of speech through Apraxia Kids and have completed PROMPT training. I was also honored to receive the Coronado Unified School District Board of Education Award in 2018.

My therapy approach is client-centered, highly individualized, and strengths-based. I prioritize family involvement, functional communication, and meaningful collaboration to support lasting progress and empower clients to reach their full potential.
