Claire-Elizabeth Gawel

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 12 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Claire-Elizabeth! I became a speech-language pathologist because of my lifelong love of language and fascination with how the brain processes communication. After discovering speech therapy during an undergraduate course, I immediately knew I had found the perfect fit. Helping people communicate more confidently and reach meaningful goals is what inspires me every day.

I’ve worked across a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient pediatric clinics, pediatric home health, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient neurorehabilitation programs for adults. I’ve supported children and adults with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs, and these experiences have strengthened my collaborative approach to working with families and interdisciplinary teams.

I’m especially passionate about literacy, motor speech disorders, neurorehabilitation, and individualized communication supports. I’ve received specialized training in Orton-Gillingham, DIRFloortime, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and the LSVT LOUD protocol.

My therapy approach is highly individualized, client-centered, and strengths-based. I prioritize family involvement, functional outcomes, and meaningful connections to everyday life. My goal is to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
