Virginia Woronoff
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)
Hi! I’m Virginia. I was drawn to speech-language pathology because it uniquely combines science and creativity in a deeply people-centered profession. It is a privilege to meet people at some of the most fundamental aspects of humanity—communication and eating—and support them in skills that are essential to connection, identity, and daily life.
I am a strong advocate for lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. I have completed advanced coursework in areas such as play-based therapy, autism, sensory integration, and bilingual language development.
In addition to my clinical work, I design and lead professional development for speech-language pathologists, educators, and graduate students on topics including bilingualism, cultural and linguistic diversity, and sensory regulation. I also teach a graduate-level course at DePaul University focused on cultural responsiveness in bilingual speech-language pathology and lead programs that support clinician learning and cross-cultural collaboration.
My clinical experience spans diverse settings, including acute care, private practice, and schools. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, and highly individualized style. I incorporate sensory-integration-informed practices and I prioritize family involvement, functional outcomes, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.

Our therapist Virginia was exceptional! Our son made progress more quickly than we expected, and he is really happy with his results. Rescheduling appointments was easy when needed, and the two other therapists we rescheduled with were both great too.

Virginia is, without a doubt, the best speech therapist I've ever had—and I've worked with several over the years. I've attended speech therapy since before I started elementary school and continued all the way through sixth grade, and I even returned for therapy the summer before my freshman year of high school. Despite all of that experience, none of those therapists compare to Virginia. One thing that truly sets her apart is her ability to adapt her teaching to what works best for me. Whenever I've struggled with pronouncing a word, she's come up with creative alternative techniques, such as writing out how the word sounds phonetically or breaking it down into smaller parts so it's easier for me to say. Her patience and willingness to find a method that works have made a tremendous difference. Virginia is also incredibly encouraging. She celebrates every milestone and every correct pronunciation, no matter how small, which has helped build my confidence and kept me motivated throughout therapy. She genuinely cares about her patients' success, and it shows in every session. I cannot recommend Virginia highly enough. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, patient, supportive, and compassionate speech therapist who is truly invested in helping you succeed, she is the one to see.

This was our first therapy session. Our son was really nervous and actually refused to join the session at first. Our speech therapist patiently worked with us and engaged him slowly, making him feel comfortable enough to fully participate after a few minutes.
