Tracy Heupel
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)
Hi! I’m Tracy. I originally started in nursing school while working in a nursing home because I knew I wanted a career helping people. While I enjoyed patient care, I realized nursing was not the right fit for me. During that time, I had to opportunity to closely observe the speech therapist at the facility, and I was drawn to the way she helped residents communicate and regain independence. That experience showed me how powerful communication is in a person's quality of life. I decided to change my career path, and since then I've felt confident I chose the right profession. As I began doing clinical rotations in graduate school, I quickly realized pediatrics was my calling, and have loved my job ever since!
My clinical experience spans diverse settings, including schools, private practice, and hospitals. I am trained in Orton Gillingham (Level 1) through the Orton Gillingham Online Academy, will allows me to support individual literacy needs. I would describe my clinical approach as client-centered and functional.
