Sydney Nygaard

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 45 insurance plans

Hello! I’m Sydney. I became a speech-language pathologist because growing up, I watched my little sister find her voice through years of speech therapy after a profound hearing loss went undetected as a baby. Experiencing firsthand how speech therapy can transform an individual AND their family’s life inspired me to help others build their voice and communicate with confidence. I have experience working as an SLPA supervisor and have worked in diverse clinical settings, including public schools, private clinics, and early intervention. My clinical style is client-centered, functional, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

I was a bit apprehensive at first. The communication method was a bit confusing at first, then as I continued, it became easier. I do appreciate that my need for a later appointment was accommodated. I liked the professionalism of the speech pathologist Sydney Nygaar. She was friendly; she made my son feel relaxed. She communicated effectively and clear.  Overall my son enjoyed his sessions.

My daughter and I ALWAYS look forward to each session. The incredible energy Miss Sydney brings is SO wonderful and refreshing. The leaps and improvements my daughter has made in the short time we've been working on Expressable with her is so amazing. The notes after session are so easy to access and catered perfectly with what we are working on that it makes it easy to apply at home for even quicker results. We are so happy here

My 5-year-old has been in virtual speech therapy for about two months, and this has been the most engaging experience so far! I really appreciate how the therapist challenges my child to form 4–5 word sentences and use phrases like “first” and “then.” I’ve noticed a great improvement in how my child answers “who” and “what” questions. The only thing I would like to see is a quick follow-up after each 30-minute session, but overall, we’re very happy with the progress and experience!

Instructor was very friendly and made the questioning fun for my 4-year-old.  He was always very engaged with the questions asked, and she was always complimenting him and giving him phrases during his nervous times during the evaluation process
