Hi! I’m Rebecca. Growing up, I always loved the idea of being a teacher but was also drawn to the medical field. I found speech-language pathology to be a perfect hybrid of the two, where I could learn about the complexities of the brain and nervous system to guide in me in teaching and coaching people to reach their communication goals.

I have taken extensive continuing education courses in acquired brain injuries for both adults and pediatric patients, and I have then taught in this area as well both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have also taught as a guest lecturer many times, and was adjunct faculty at two universities teaching the following courses: "Language: Structure, Meaning, and Use" at George Washington University and "Adolescent Language Development” at University of Wisconsin - Madison. I have experience mentoring many students and have presented many inservices over the years at my various places of employment.

My clinical experience spans diverse settings, including inpatient (from NICU to Acute Rehab), outpatient community and hospital clinics, university clinics, in-home, and teletherapy. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, functional, and highly individualized style. I incorporate routines-based and sensory-integration-informed practices to support meaningful carryover, and I prioritize family involvement, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.
