Nishi Desai

Licensed Occupational Therapist (MOT., OTR/L)

Hi! I’m Nisha. I became an occupational therapist because I’m passionate about helping individuals build the skills they need to live meaningful, independent lives. In pediatric therapy, I especially enjoy helping children develop motor, sensory, and self-care skills through play while partnering with families to support each child’s growth and independence.

My experience includes supporting children with a variety of developmental and functional needs. I’m committed to ongoing professional development and regularly complete continuing education to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.

I have pursued additional training in sensory processing and sensory integration strategies, which has strengthened my ability to support children with regulation, attention, and participation in daily activities. I’ve also completed coursework focused on the evaluation and treatment of torticollis, expanding my ability to support positioning, motor development, and functional movement in infants and young children.

My therapy approach is client-centered, functional, and highly individualized. I prioritize family-centered care and use strengths- and routines-based strategies to support meaningful carryover beyond therapy. I also incorporate sensory integration techniques to promote regulation and engagement. My goal is to empower every client to build confidence, develop independence, and participate successfully in everyday life.
