About me
Hi! I'm Nirali. Since childhood, I've been driven by a deep-seated desire to help others and have always felt a strong pull toward making a meaningful impact in people's lives. This innate passion and empathy led me to discover speech-language pathology as a perfect avenue to channel my aspirations. Throughout my journey, I've been incredibly fortunate to have had remarkable mentors who have not only nurtured my professional growth but also shaped my personal outlook. Their guidance and wisdom have been invaluable, reinforcing my belief in the transformative power of speech therapy. These experiences have not only solidified my commitment to the field but also ignited a fire within me to continually strive for excellence and innovation in my practice. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to continue learning and growing as a speech-language pathologist, making a positive difference in the lives of those I have the privilege to serve. I was fortunate enough to work alongside occupational therapists (OTs) during my most recent speech therapy job at Playworks. I learned so much about sensory integration working alongside OTs. It was there that I was also able to learn about DIR Floortime. I was also able to go to a conference at the Celebrations School for Children in New Jersey and watch DIR Floortime in a real-world setting. I have worked in settings such as public schools and private practice. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and sensory integrated.

Other interests
Outside of speech-language pathology, I have a rich tapestry of interests and hobbies. During the challenges of the pandemic, I found love and got married, and now I cherish every moment with our son. Cooking at home is a creative outlet for me, allowing me to explore new flavors and techniques. I also enjoy staying active through spin and yoga classes, finding balance and peace in movement. Nothing beats a refreshing walk outdoors, where I can connect with nature and clear my mind. Above all, I treasure the time spent with my family, creating memories and sharing laughter together.

There were a few technical issues on both ends, but with text communications and a bit of time those were sorted out. The therapist was engaging with my child. Communication from Expressable is excellent. The app is excellent. The way the report is presented and the contextual information provided and next steps was very well laid out.

Our son LOVES Nirali! He has been in speech therapy since he was maybe 2 years old, and he has hated doing speech therapy, and asked me all the time to cancel it. Now since being with Nirali since August he LOVES attending speech therapy! In fact he asks to have speech therapy every day, because of how much he enjoys doing it. I love how she customizes it to his needs and what he likes. She keeps him engaged in sessions so he doesn't lose his focus and concentration. Since starting with Nirali in August there has been a HUGE improvement in our son's speech. He does phonics tutoring and swimming lessons too, and before he was really shy, had a hard time communicating with others when teachers would ask him questions. Since switching to Expressable and having Nirali as the therapist, his teachers have been able to understand him more clearly. When at a Christmas party this past week he spoke to people with CONFIDENCE!! Which is huge! And in phonics tutoring this past week he was speaking and reading more quickly, and read a whole 13 page story within 10 minutes with no help. That's a huge improvement from even a few weeks ago. So super grateful for Expressable, and can't wait to see how he does for his re-evaluation coming up and seeing his progress!

We love Nirali! She's so patient with our son. We were a little skeptical after the previous speech therapist we had from another place was pushy, however we're so glad we switched to Expressable and Nirali is the speech therapist. She's so sweet, and really focuses on what he needs help with, and keeps him engaged with his interest for sessions. Our son has made excellent progress already with only having been with Nirali for almost 2 months. Super confident moving forward, and continuing to work together for our son's speech.
