About me

Hi! I’m Nicole. I became a speech therapist because I have always been deeply interested in how people communicate, learn, and express themselves in ways that are meaningful to them. My professional foundation began as a Montessori teacher, where I learned the importance of following the child, honoring individual learning styles, and creating environments that support autonomy, dignity, and self-advocacy. That experience shaped my belief that development is not something to “fix,” but something to support. My clinical experience spans diverse settings, including pediatric outpatient clinics, acute rehabilitation, and schools. To deepen my clinical expertise, I’ve pursued extensive continuing education across fluency, AAC, and communication. My training includes the TouchChat AAC Partner Program, along with coursework in early childhood intervention and parent coaching, Gestalt Language Processing, and the CARE model of stuttering (a non-ableist approach to stuttering treatment that empowers children, teens, and adults). I take a client-centered and highly individualized approach to therapy. By integrating sensory-integration-informed practices, I focus on helping clients regulate, engage, and apply communication skills in meaningful, real-life situations. I also prioritize family involvement, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment, helping each person build confidence, independence, and effective communication skills.
