Melissa McClung

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 29 insurance plans

Hi! I'm Melissa. I was inspired to become a speech-language pathologist while nannying for a young man who was deaf, non-speaking, and had Down Syndrome. Watching him find his voice through a speech-generating device and gain independence sparked my lifelong commitment to expanding communication access for others.

My clinical background spans a variety of settings, where I support individuals with diverse speech, language, and complex communication needs across the lifespan. My therapy approach is routines-based, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming. I prioritize individualized, client- and family-centered care, actively partnering with families and interdisciplinary teams to foster functional communication, self-advocacy, and overall quality of life. I am particularly passionate about making therapy engaging, creative, and tailored to each person's unique strengths.

I am dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidenced-based care through continuous professional learning. My specialized training and continuing education focus on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), early intervention, speech sound disorders, language development, bilingual and multicultural care, and neuroaffirming intervention strategies.
