Melissa Kimes

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 16 insurance plans

Hi! I’m Melissa. I became a speech-language pathologist because I believe communication is one of the most meaningful ways we connect with others and experience the world. I love helping children build confidence as they develop their communication skills and partnering with families as they celebrate each new milestone along the way.

My clinical experience spans a variety of settings, where I’ve supported children with a wide range of communication needs. I enjoy creating individualized therapy plans that build on each child’s strengths and help them develop the skills they need to communicate confidently at home, at school, and in their communities.

I’m committed to lifelong learning and regularly pursue continuing education in evidence-based practice. Most recently, I completed the 60-hour CARIEALL literacy training through the University of Minnesota, expanding my knowledge of literacy development and evidence-based reading instruction.

My therapy approach is functional, client-centered, and highly individualized. I believe in family-centered care that builds on each child's strengths while incorporating routines-based and sensory strategies to support engagement and carryover into everyday life. My goal is to help every child build confidence, gain independence, and develop meaningful communication skills that allow them to thrive.
