About me

Hi! I'm Lindsey. My path to becoming a speech-language pathologist (SLP) started with receiving a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a minor in Communication at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. Upon graduation, I traveled around the country singing and performing professionally at various venues for several years. I returned to Austin looking for a career in which I could help improve the lives of others, and I discovered speech pathology. My previous training in voice, diction, music, overall creativity, and my courses in communication allowed me to transition easily and has enhanced my abilities as a speech-pathologist. I utilize my creative background every day to engage patients in fun, unique, and exciting ways. I have completed the Introduction to PROMPT course to offer specialized treatment to patients with apraxia, dysarthria, and articulation deficits. I have also undergone training to administer the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and have continuing education training in childhood apraxia of speech, myofunctional therapy, language in early childhood, language treatment for autism, and many other areas. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

I love how confident it was to schedule an appointment and also attend every appointment. In my area a speech waitlist was 18 months, but with Expressable I got an appointment almost immediately. The times worked great with our schedule.
