Hi! I’m Krista. I became a speech-language pathologist because I believe communication is a right. Helping a child be understood, and helping them understand the world around them, is not just clinical work to me; it is purposeful, human work. That belief continues to guide my practice, my leadership, and my commitment to this field.

Throughout my career, I have pursued specialized training in pediatric feeding and swallowing, with a strong focus on the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding. My clinical practice has primarily focused on feeding therapy, allowing me to develop advanced skills in assessment, intervention, and caregiver coaching for children with complex feeding needs. I work with children experiencing oral aversion, sensory sensitivities, limited food repertoires, delayed feeding milestones, and feeding challenges related to developmental or medical conditions. My approach emphasizes play-based, sensory-informed intervention that promotes positive mealtime experiences and supports progression toward safe, functional feeding skills. I also collaborate closely with occupational therapists and prioritize caregiver education to support carryover across home and community environments.

Other interests

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and being present in our day-to-day routines. Family time is very important to me and helps me maintain balance and perspective outside of my professional role. I also enjoy watching movies together, baking, and spending time at home working on hands-on projects, including raising chickens. Caring for animals and tending to our home environment is something I find both grounding and rewarding. In addition, I enjoy trying new restaurants and exploring different cuisines, as well as traveling when possible. Experiencing new places, cultures, and foods allows me to recharge, stay curious, and gain fresh perspectives. These interests help me maintain a healthy work-life balance and bring renewed energy and creativity back into my clinical work.
