Esther Wilkes

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 13 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Esther! I became a speech-language pathologist because I wanted to combine my love of linguistics with my passion for caring for others. I’ve always been drawn to work that allows me to build meaningful relationships, and after shadowing SLPs and seeing the impact communication support can have, I knew this was the right path for me.

I’ve worked in outpatient pediatric clinics, early intervention, and acute care inpatient hospital settings, supporting children and adults with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. My experience includes working with speech and language disorders, cognitive-communication challenges, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and complex communication needs across the lifespan. Additionally, I’ve received specialized training in AAC integration and professional development in neurodiversity-affirming practices, Passy-Muir Valve placement and treatment, and supporting Gestalt language processing.

These experiences have shaped my therapy approach to be client-centered, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming. I believe therapy should feel functional and meaningful, with strategies that naturally fit into daily routines and support communication in real-life situations. I’m especially passionate about partnering with families and caregivers, because I know progress is strongest when support extends beyond the therapy session. My goal is to help clients build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and feel empowered in their everyday lives.
