About me

Hello, I’m Emma, a licensed speech-language pathologist. Growing up, I always had a passion for speech, language, and helping others, which led me to pursue my bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Psychological Sciences at the University of Vermont (UVM). I completed my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the George Washington University (GWU). Fun fact: My mom is also an SLP, so you could say that helping people communicate runs in the family! Before joining Expressable in 2021, I worked in the special education school, acute care hospital, private practice, and outpatient clinic settings. I’ve had the privilege to work with clients of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds, including children and adults with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), expressive/receptive language delays, fluency disorders, speech sound disorders, apraxia, aphasia, and AAC users. I hold certifications in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD®). Additionally, I have experience working with a wide range of low-tech and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems including Proloquo2Go, Tobii Dynavox, Accent®, LAMP Words for Life (WFL)®, and GoTalk. I’m passionate about helping clients of all ages learn effective communication skills and improve their overall quality of life. My clinical style is client-centered, dynamic, strengths-based, and individualized. Speech therapy is not "one-size-fits-all": I work closely with each client to develop customized treatment plans that are tailored to their unique needs and goals. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is holistic and supportive, focusing on promoting functional skills to maximize generalization and benefits of therapy. In my treatment, I implement interactive, evidence-based, and engaging activities to help facilitate learning and promote development in meaningful ways. I would love to partner with you on your communication journey!

Emma is amazing. She works great with my husband, and he’s really been recovering his word-finding skills and processing information from his stroke. She has taught him great strategies for finding the words he wants to say. She is always professional and works with him to get the answers he needs to come up with.

Emma is so patient with my husband. He had a stroke as a result of a heart procedure and he has troubles with word finding and decision-making. She works tirelessly with him each week and she gives us a progress report after each session. She is very encouraging to both (my husband) and me.

Emma Feldman works well with my husband. She's always positive and encouraging. I can see the progress each time they meet. He has come such a long way from where he was in March.

Emma is wonderful! She's very encouraging; never a negative attitude. She understands what [the client] needs to work on and she's very patient with him as he tries to figure out what he's supposed to be doing.

Emma works great with (my son) to help him learn word association and categorization. She gives us homework to continue the learning. It just seems too short.

The teacher was so nice

She connects with my son so well and learned how he best learns and used that to help him. Emma made it so my child was excited to see her every week.

She was very patient with (my son) and he loved seeing her. The best thing about her is that she identified a tongue tie when his pediatrician and previous speech therapist didn't.

It was good I just wish for more face to face progress reports with parents then text or email.

Emma caught my sons attention during the very first session. He will mention her name outside session. That made me very comfortable. Emma listens to my concerns and makes every effort to help my son. She will be missed!
