About me
Hi! I’m Emily. I became an SLP because I wanted to be able to work with people in a 1:1 or small group setting and help them overcome challenges to be able to communicate and eat/drink to the best of their abilities. It is such a joy to love to go to work every day and get to celebrate each step of progress with each client and family along the way. I’m AEIOU trained and have experience teaching, including two semesters of the core public speaking class at Ivy Tech and three guest lectures on Introduction to AAC for OT graduate students. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, from early intervention and pediatric hospitals to ABA programs, private practice, and schools serving children from pre-K through age 22. I would describe my clinical approach as client-centered, functional, and individualized, with a strong focus on family involvement. I aim to empower clients to become confident self-advocates while incorporating sensory integration as needed.
