About me

Hi! I'm Elizabeth. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2017.I became an SLP to support children and adults similar to my younger brother who was a late language learner when he was young. His caring, passionate SLP inspired me to look closer into the healthcare professions when I was in high school. This memory, my want to make a positive impact on other peoples' lives, and my love for all aspects of communication when obtaining my Bachelors and Masters degrees really drew me to this profession. I have a certificate in providing Early Intervention services in Virginia Preschool/School-Age Fluency Certificate, Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding training. I also completed another SOS course to address feeding concerning from age 6 months to 16 months of age, Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Approach training, Dynamic Tactile Temporal Tactile Cueing(DTTC) certificate for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, CPR & First Aid completed in March 2023. I worked in settings such as outpatient, local public school, and SNF. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
