About me
Hi! I'm Elexea, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). I was initially inspired and intrigued by the wide variety of this field. Watching my own family members suffer from strokes and cancer, I decided to dedicate my professional career to serving others. The brain and neurology have always been a passion of mine, which further fueled my dedication to learn and excel within this field. I have worked in settings such as acute care, inpatient rehabilitation (general population, TBI), neurorehabilitation (outpatient), skilled nursing facilities, pediatric outpatient (with school contracts), and teletherapy for an ABA company. I have certifications including LSVT LOUD (adults and pediatrics), SPEAKOUT!, and CBIS. These certifications have enabled me to have a greater understanding to apply clinical research interventions into sessions. They have also given me the confidence to become a Brain Injury Fundamentals instructor through the Brain Injury Association of America. I absolutely love to provide education related to brain injury symptoms, management, and support. I believe pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an underestimated condition, which has given me extra motivation to spread awareness. Aphasia is another area I'm passionate about when teaching. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

I absolutely love to cook and bake, read, as well as workout. More recently I have loved my husband and I slowing down our usually very busy and unaligned schedules, to spend time with our newborn.
