About me

Hello! I'm Elaina, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). I always knew I was interested in either the educational field and/or the medical field; speech-language pathology fit right into this vision. Right out of high school, I had the opportunity to get my feet wet in the medical field as a nurses assistant. This is where I learned about different therapies: physical, occupational, and speech. Speech-language pathology caught my attention. I was amazed by the support they offered to patients, from those with communication difficulties to swallowing disorders. I love that I can use my creativity, knowledge, and passion for this field to help such a variety of people across the lifespan. I have worked in settings such as early intervention, private practice, outpatient hospitals, K-8 schools, teletherapy, and subacute rehab facilities. I have trainings and certifications in the following: Certified Brain Injury Specialist; Beckman Oral Motor Protocol; Pre and Post Frenectomy and Whole Body Course; LSVT LOUD; Neurodiverse Affirming IEP Course; Simon Says Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy Certificate; and video fluoroscopic swallow studies. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, family-centric, routines-based, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
