About me

Hello! My name is Diahn (pronounced Deeon), and I am a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist (SLP). My journey as an SLP started in an unexpected way. During my high school years, my best friend experienced a brainstem stroke, resulting in unilateral paralysis and laryngectomy. After witnessing her communication challenges, unbeknownst to me at that time, the seed for my speech pathology career was planted. I obtained my Master of Science degree at James Madison University and my SLP journey began. To date, my experience includes, but is not limited to, treating early language delays, autism, apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, stuttering, and adults with professional communication needs. I enjoy working with all ages and strive to keep my clients' interests in the forefront of therapy. From play-based activities for little ones, science experiments with older children, to career communication scenarios with adults, my aim is to help each client achieve their personal goals within a fun and motivating therapy environment.

Dogs, the beach and being in nature are definite ways to get me smiling. I adore being swept away while writing about and taking photos of dogs and the coast! My husband, two pups and I love to travel and we always look forward to hooking up our trailer for true camping relaxation.

My daughter's therapist has developed an excellent rapport with her and is working very much to meet specific needs, and is flexible and adaptable with sessions, which is very much appreciated.

I had a fantastic experience with the speech and language evaluation, and I’m happy to give it 5 stars! The therapist was incredibly engaging, keeping my child focused and interested throughout the session. They were warm, friendly, and displayed a deep understanding of my child’s personality and age-appropriate behavior. Their encouraging approach made the session both productive and enjoyable, even in an online setting. I truly appreciate their expertise and the thoughtful way they conducted the evaluation.
