Get startedHi! I'm Anna. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2025. Growing up, I was a very shy child—and like many of the students I now work with, I received speech therapy at a young age. My own speech therapist made a lasting impact on me, not just by helping me communicate more clearly, but by giving me some more confidence. That experience stayed with me and ultimately inspired me to help others the same way. As I got older, I knew I wanted to work with children. After shadowing several speech-language pathologists, I found so much joy in seeing how small steps in therapy could lead to big wins for kids and their families. Becoming an SLP has allowed me to combine my personal journey with my passion for helping children find their voice—and use it with confidence. I hold a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Certificate and am CHAMPS-trained in behavior support strategies. I completed clinical training with an SLP specializing in AAC, gaining hands-on experience with various communication systems. I'm also trained in SPEAK OUT!® and LOUD Crowd® for individuals with Parkinson’s. I worked in settings such as: schools. I would describe my clinical style as individualized/personalized, family-centric, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Outside of speech-language pathology, I love spending time with my dog and being outdoors. I enjoy going to the beach, boating, hiking, and I really value a good cup of coffee to start the day! I currently work an additional job as a dog trainer.

The duration of speech therapy is different for everyone, and it depends on several factors. This includes the type of speech disorder or communication challenge, the frequency of speech therapy sessions, how often you practice the skills taught in speech therapy at home, your personal or professional goals, any underlying medical conditions, and more.

Speech therapy sessions are focused on each client’s care plan, and the activities done during sessions always relate to those goals. So, if a person is in speech therapy to better pronounce the /s/ sound, they’ll begin by learning how to make the sound by itself and work up to practicing it in conversation. Or if someone wants to improve the quality of their voice, their speech therapist will teach them appropriate breathing and vocal exercises. The therapist will aim to do as many trials of each exercise as possible, in order to make the most of each session.
Your speech therapist will constantly be measuring and assessing your response to these exercises. When needed, they’ll make changes to your treatment plan to help you make progress as quickly as possible. Regardless of your goals, your speech therapist will always provide practice activities to complete at home between sessions.
