About me

Hi! I’m Allison. I’ve always known I wanted to help people, and I’ve always loved working closely with others. When I discovered speech-language pathology, it felt like the perfect fit. This profession combines my passion for human connection with a career that makes a real, lasting impact. What drew me in was how powerful communication truly is. Helping someone find their voice is incredibly meaningful. I love that this field blends science, creativity, and compassion. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to connect, support, and make a difference in someone’s life—and that’s what makes being an SLP so rewarding. Recently, I’ve taken several continuing education courses focused on teletherapy, including best practices for engaging clients in a virtual setting. I’ve also completed CEUs on incorporating functional communication into therapy and using play-based approaches to support meaningful, real-life communication skills. These trainings have helped me stay current and enhance the effectiveness of my sessions, both in person and online. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, functional, and highly individualized style. I incorporate routines-based practices to support meaningful carryover, and prioritize family involvement, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.

Other interests

I love getting lost in a good book, baking sweet treats, and checking out new restaurants—bonus points if there's dessert involved! I also enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for a long walk, hiking a local trail, or just soaking up some sunshine. And at home, my cats keep me busy and entertained—they definitely run the show. I like to keep a good balance between being active and cozy!
