Alexia Kapetanos

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 10 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Alexia! I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I believe communication is a fundamental human right, and everyone deserves the support and tools to express themselves confidently. My passion for this field is deeply personal—I received speech therapy as a child and experienced firsthand the impact compassionate, individualized care can have.

My perspective continued to grow as I supported family members through dysphagia and Alzheimer’s disease, experiences that strengthened my commitment to helping individuals maintain connection, dignity, and independence throughout all stages of life.

Clinically, I’ve worked across schools, telehealth, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation settings, supporting individuals across the lifespan with a variety of communication and swallowing needs. These experiences have shaped my ability to provide individualized, functional care that is meaningful to each client’s goals and daily routines.

I’m especially passionate about neurogenic communication disorders, caregiver collaboration, and empowering clients through practical, real-world strategies that build confidence and self-advocacy. Additionally, I’ve completed coursework in American Sign Language, Interpersonal Speech Communication, and Intercultural Communication, and I meet ASHA standards for clinical instruction and supervision.

My therapy approach is client-centered, holistic, and family-focused, with an emphasis on collaboration, meaningful communication, and supportive care tailored to each individual.
