About me
Hi! I'm Yasmeen. I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I'm passionate about the intimate nature of this work and the one-on-one connections I get to build with the people I serve. There's something so meaningful about helping someone communicate for the first time or regain skills they thought were lost or unable to obtain. The greatest gift of my career is empowering others to express themselves fully. I have worked in settings such as private practice, elementary schools, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and home health. I'm certified in SPEAKOUT! and have taken specific courses in early childhood development, dysphagia management, and cognitive disorders. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Outside of speech-language pathology, I love exploring global cuisine through cooking, trying new recipes, and of course travelling. I also enjoy volunteering at animal shelters and spending time with all the dogs! Staying active, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with friends and family is my happy place.

Yasmeen and Melanie were great therapists. They were responsive to my needs when my diagnosis changed. I was given exercises with follow up written instructions in the portable. I now have the tools I need to manage vocal cord atrophy.
