Hi! I’m Virginia. I was drawn to speech-language pathology because it uniquely combines science and creativity in a deeply people-centered profession. It is a privilege to meet people at some of the most fundamental aspects of humanity—communication and eating—and support them in skills that are essential to connection, identity, and daily life.

I am a strong advocate for lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. I have completed advanced coursework in areas such as play-based therapy, autism, sensory integration, and bilingual language development, including a Bilingual Extension Certification from Portland State University.

In addition to my clinical work, I design and lead professional development for speech-language pathologists, educators, and graduate students on topics including bilingualism, cultural and linguistic diversity, and sensory regulation. I also teach a graduate-level course at DePaul University focused on cultural responsiveness in bilingual speech-language pathology and lead programs that support clinician learning and cross-cultural collaboration.

My clinical experience spans diverse settings, including acute care, private practice, and schools. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, and highly individualized style. I incorporate sensory-integration-informed practices and I prioritize family involvement, functional outcomes, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and camping, social dancing (particularly salsa and swing), and cooking. Over the past few years, I’ve learned a variety of Mexican recipes and am currently looking forward to start experimenting with sourdough baking.
