Sofia Virzi
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)
About me
Hi! I’m Sofia. I became a speech-language pathologist because I am passionate about supporting language development across the lifespan. As a bilingual SLP with a background in multilingual learning, I am dedicated to helping people from a range of different backgrounds communicate effectively and thrive academically and socially. I hold specialized training in the Science of Reading through a SUNY microcredential, as well as a Bilingual Extension from NYU, which further strengthens my ability to support multilingual learners and evidence-based literacy development. My clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including adult rehabilitation, private practice, and public schools. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, functional, and highly individualized style. I incorporate routines-based and sensory-integration-informed practices to support meaningful carryover, and I prioritize family involvement, strengths-based strategies, and client empowerment to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.
