About me
Hello! I'm Rebecca. I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I wanted to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Working as a camp counselor during my high school summers, I discovered how much I loved working with children. I just knew I would follow in my mom’s footsteps and become a teacher. When I began college, I was set to major in elementary education, until one of my roommates introduced me to her major... communication disorders. It was then I realized becoming an SLP would allow me to work with individuals of all ages, in a more individualized and personal way. I love knowing that I am making a difference in someone's life, by helping them communicate with their world. I have worked in a skilled nursing facility, home health, private practice, teletherapy, and elementary and middle schools.

My teenage son was still having trouble pronouncing words with the letter "R". Getting an in-person appointment for speech therapy was so frustrating to schedule and transport there. Dealing with insurance was just difficult as well. We just weren't getting anywhere. For our purposes and my son's preferences, doing speech therapy over his phone and at home was definitely our best option. It worked out wonderfully. Our therapist, Rebecca Turner was awesome. My son and Rebecca had an appointment every week. He would do the treatment on his own. His speech improved and it's so nice to see his confidence improve. It was a great experience.

Our son was evaluated for speech therapy and I observed and assisted as needed. I was pleased with the thoroughness of the evaluation as well as the questions that the therapists asked my husband and me following the assessment.
