About me

Hi! I'm Millie, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a passion for helping people communicate and connect in meaningful ways. I became an SLP driven by a deep desire to support individuals across the lifespan—whether it’s a toddler saying their first words, a teenager finding confidence in their voice, or an adult regaining communication after a stroke. Before pursuing speech-language pathology, I spent nearly a decade working as a librarian. That experience nurtured my love of language, literacy, and lifelong learning—but I wanted to make a more personal impact. Becoming an SLP has allowed me to combine my strengths in communication, education, and human connection to empower individuals and families in truly life-changing ways. I've worked in a variety of settings, including university clinics, hospitals (acute care and outpatient), skilled nursing/post-acute rehab, elementary and middle schools, pediatric private practice, and now teletherapy. I have special interests in early intervention (birth to three), supporting middle and high school students, and working with adult neurogenic populations. I hold advanced training and certification in: SPEAK OUT! – Parkinson’s Voice Treatment Program, MBSImP – Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (Northern Speech Services), Orthographic Instruction for Speech Intelligibility & Phonological Awareness (Northern Speech Services)My clinical approach is holistic, client-centered, and strengths-based. I focus on building functional communication skills and empowering clients and families through personalized, evidence-based therapy. Above all, I believe in creating confident communicators and self-advocates—because communication is not just a skill, it’s a lifeline!

Other interests

Outside of work, I find peace and inspiration in the natural world. I love going on long walks—whether through mountain trails or quiet neighborhoods—letting my thoughts wander and soak in the beauty around me. I feel most grounded when I’m creating: cooking something cozy in the kitchen, painting/crafting, or getting lost in a new idea. Whether I’m reading, daydreaming, or simply sitting in stillness, I find joy in beautiful things and embracing quiet, imaginative moments. Most of all, I cherish time spent with family—they are my favorite people in the world!
