Maureen Gage

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 11 insurance plans

Hi! I’m Maureen. My journey to becoming a speech-language pathologist began at home. My father was deaf, and growing up, our family communicated through sign language. Watching him navigate a world that was not always accessible showed me how deeply communication impacts independence, connection, and dignity.

As I got older, I watched my father work hard to develop spoken communication with the support of a skilled speech therapist. Seeing how communication transformed his confidence, relationships, and ability to move through the world inspired me to pursue this field. I became an SLP because I want to help individuals communicate in ways that feel authentic, empowering, and meaningful to them—whether through speech, sign language, AAC, or other forms of communication.

My clinical experience spans schools, home-based services, skilled nursing facilities, and adult group homes, where I’ve supported individuals with diverse communication and learning needs across the lifespan. I’ve completed professional development in autism spectrum disorders, AAC, assistive technology, social communication, literacy programs, behavior supports, and multidisciplinary collaboration. I also have beginner-level proficiency in sign language and have presented professional development on collaborative multidisciplinary therapy teams.

My therapy approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and highly individualized. I prioritize functional communication, self-advocacy, collaboration with families and teams, and creating supportive environments where every individual feels heard and understood.
