About me

Hi! I'm LaTief. I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I was always intrigued with the art of how we as people communicate. When I learned there was a field that was dedicated to helping people communicate, it became my passion. There is such joy in helping someone gain or regain their ability to communicate, whether verbally or nonverbally, and seeing someone through their journey of achieving their communication goals. In addition to being state licensed and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, I am also certified in VitalStim, MDTP (McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program), and LSVT LOUD (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment). I have worked in settings such as education, home health, medical, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, outpatient, and teletherapy. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Mrs Davis did a great job

S.M./Sep 16, 2024

Ms. L is fantastic with our son. He was having an "off" day and did not want to attend his session this week, but as soon as he heard us starting the chat with Ms. L, he was excited to play the "magic" game to practice his speech skills and speak with her about his week. He is quite self-conscious and sometimes shys away from "homework" but Ms. L's friendly and professional demeanor put him at ease and allow him to focus on the techniques she is sharing in the sessions.
