Kayla Standen

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 30 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Kayla! I became a speech-language pathologist because I love helping children build confidence in their communication skills. I also enjoy partnering with families to support their child's growth and success both in and out of therapy.

I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of communication needs across multiple clinical settings, collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams to provide personalized, functional care. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to meeting each client where they are and creating therapy that is engaging, meaningful, and effective.

I’m committed to continuing my professional growth through ongoing education. I have completed specialized training in autism, fluency, and articulation, and I continue to expand my knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including teletherapy services and a variety of AAC systems and devices.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve volunteered in Belize, where I provided speech and language evaluations, therapy, and hearing screenings in underserved communities. This experience deepened my passion for increasing access to quality speech therapy services.

My therapy approach is client-centered and individualized, building on each person's strengths, goals, and daily routines. I emphasize functional communication and family involvement while fostering confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills in a supportive, empowering environment.
