About me
Hello! I'm Karyn. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I am passionate about everyone’s right to communicate in the capacity that is successful for them. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University (whoop!) and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University. I specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of communication disorders and have presented at the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association multiple times on social skill acquisition for neurodiverse individuals. The majority of my experience has been in public education, where I have worked extensively with school-aged children and young adults. My clinical style is relational-based and feedback-driven.

Other interests
Outside of my interests in Speech-Language Pathology I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years and we have three boys. I am an Enneagram 7 which means I am enthusiastic and energetic, usually in a terribly nerdy and embarrassing way which my boys absolutely adore.

Mrs. Karyn is amazing with my son! She is always so kind and very patient. Her updates are detailed and let me know exactly what we need to work on throughout the week. Karyn Hamson is amazing. She made lessons fun and creative for our daughter while providing feedback and coaching that was appropriate to our daughters age and level of understanding. She motivated her to practice independently by attending to her personal strengths and growth areas. Our daughter really enjoyed her lessons and it was clear that Karyn was invested in her progress.
