About me

I am Karyn Hamson and I have been a Speech Language Pathologist for 7 years. I have my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and am licensed to practice speech language pathology in the state of Texas. I received my Bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University in 1999 (Whoop!) and my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Texas Woman’s University in 2015. The majority of my experience has been in public education where I have worked extensively with school-aged children and young adults. I specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of communication disorders to include: receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, fluency disorder, autism spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, social skills, and other developmental delays. I love working with augmentative and alternative communication to provide individuals with their voice and have experience with low tech and high tech assistive technology (TD Snap, Proloquo2Go, and LAMP). I look forward to working closely with individuals and their families to achieve success that is relevant and valuable.

Other interests

Outside of my interests in Speech-Language Pathology I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years and we have three boys. I am an Enneagram 7 which means I am enthusiastic and energetic, usually in a terribly nerdy and embarrassing way which my boys absolutely adore.
