About me

Hello! I am Karyn Hamson and I have been a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) since 2016. I became an SLP because I am passionate about everyone’s right to communicate in the capacity that is successful for them. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University (whoop!) and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University. I specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of communication disorders and have presented at the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association multiple times on social skill acquisition for neurodiverse individuals. The majority of my experience has been in public education, where I have worked extensively with school-aged children and young adults. My clinical style is relational-based and feedback-driven.

Other interests

Outside of my interests in Speech-Language Pathology I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years and we have three boys. I am an Enneagram 7 which means I am enthusiastic and energetic, usually in a terribly nerdy and embarrassing way which my boys absolutely adore.

We are very excited to work with Karyn and the Lingraphica device. She seems excited too, and willing to work with (my spouse) to get the most out of the device.

Great start. I liked working with Karyn Hamson.

It was fine. I don't have a way to visualize my progress from time to time (not session-to-session or even month-to-month, but maybe quarterly?) and as someone whose career was data-centric, I find this a tad frustrating. It has nothing to do with my SLP. Perhaps your company's system could find a way to visually express progress as it relates to each client's particular challenges.
