Elyse Rodriguez
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)
Hi! I’m Elyse. I fell in love with speech while I was in undergrad in the BFA Acting program at Elon University. I remember learning about phonetics in Voice & Diction and how to create certain sounds by changing the position of your articulators and it was so interesting to me. I started excelling in the class to the point that my classmates would come to me for pointers and I realized that I loved helping people shape their sounds. When I started looking into what else I could do with phonetics, I found the world of Speech-Language Pathology and discovered so many things that I loved.
I have completed specialized coursework in Gestalt Language Processing and Natural Language Acquisition. I can be found on the registry of NLA-trained SLPs. I have a passion for neurodiversity -affirming practice and have led two staff trainings at an elementary school: 1) Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice and 2) Preparing for the Gestalt Language Processor to educate teachers and staff on how to best support their neurodivergent students. These areas of study have strengthened my ability to support diverse communicators and provide informed, evidence-based intervention across a range of needs.
My clinical experience spans the private practice and school settings.
I would describe my approach to therapy as holistic, client-centered, and highly individualized. I also prioritize family involvement, strengths-based strategies, functional outcomes, and client empowerment, helping each client build confidence, independence, and effective communication skills.
