Crissy Martinez
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)
Hi, I’m Crissy! I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) because I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful, real-world difference. Supporting someone as they learn to communicate more clearly or safely enjoy a meal with their family felt like a powerful and meaningful way to help improve everyday life.
I’ve worked in school and home health settings, supporting individuals with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. These experiences have helped me develop a flexible, individualized approach that focuses on practical skills and meaningful progress for each child and family.
I’m especially passionate about pediatric speech and language development, feeding and swallowing skills, and supporting children with Down syndrome. I enjoy helping children build communication and feeding skills through engaging, supportive, and play-based interactions. Additionally, I have completed coursework in articulation, language development, play-based therapy, feeding, and specialized approaches for children with Down syndrome, which help guide my clinical decision-making and treatment planning.
My therapy approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and highly individualized, with an emphasis on family involvement, functional outcomes, sensory-informed strategies, and helping each child build confidence and independence in their everyday routines.
