About me

Hi! I'm Ashley, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). I decided I wanted to be an SLP as a senior in high school. Around the time I was trying to make career and college decisions, three important people in my life started seeing a speech therapist. My family friend with Down syndrome was telling me how much she loved her new speech therapist, my cousin who was born with a cleft palate was seeing a speech therapist regularly, and my grandma was diagnosed with Parkinson's and enrolled in voice therapy. This was when I discovered how one profession can make a difference across the lifespan, and I have enjoyed every step of the way since. I am so grateful to be able to help people of all ages regain their independence, communication, and quality of life! I have worked in settings such as an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, home health, and schools via telehealth. I have completed training in the Lingraphica Certification Program, allowing me to provide adults with aphasia the resources to learn and obtain their own personal high-tech AAC device. I have taught stroke education and aphasia support group courses, providing people in the community with resources and support to improve their independence and quality of life. I am trained in MBSS and FEES swallow studies. I have also supervised others to learn and perform FEES. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

The whole process was so simple to navigate. Being able to to this virtually was a bigger bonus, and having exercise material between sessions to work with my child was so helpful! Our therapist was absolutely amazing and my daughter loved working with her!

Ashley was very friendly and personable, and she was very understanding of the struggles that I've been having with my speech issues, even ones that I could not fully articulate.
