Amanita Brazil

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP)

Hi, I’m Amanita! I became a speech-language pathologist because I believe every person deserves a voice and the ability to share their experiences with others. I’m passionate about supporting clients as they build communication skills that feel natural, authentic, and meaningful in their everyday lives.

I’ve worked across school and hospital settings, supporting individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to provide compassionate, individualized care that is functional, client-driven, and responsive to each person’s goals.

I’m especially passionate about voice therapy, cognitive-communication, early language development, and helping individuals strengthen self-expression and connection. My background in theater has also shaped my understanding of voice, presence, and expressive communication, which I bring into my clinical work. I have completed specialized training in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) and the DIR/Floortime model, and I have been recognized twice by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) for my commitment to continuing education.

My therapy approach is client-centered, nonjudgmental, and highly individualized, with an emphasis on functional communication, emotional safety, and empowering each client to communicate in a way that feels authentic to them.

I can say without a doubt that Amanita changed my life for the better and I now feel much more comfortable and confident with talking in my daily life. Due to unpleasant experiences in the past with speech therapists growing up, I was initially hesitant when reaching out to Expressable to schedule a consult as an adult in my late twenties, but Amanita was very helpful even from that first appointment in recognizing my lateral lisp and devising ways to help me correct it. She was super patient and friendly, always provided positive feedback as well as constructive criticism, and adapted exercises to meet my needs. I can't thank her enough for the tremendous impact she's had in improving my life.
