About me

Hi! I'm Allyson, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). Like many in this field, I had a desire to help people! I fell in love with diversity that the job offered in regard to the various populations I was able to help and work with. Communication in all forms is SO important and I love being a part of a person or family's journey in reaching their communication goals. I am currently certified in VitalStim and MBSImP. Within a virtual platform, while I will not directly be able to use these certifications, I take with me the knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the swallowing mechanism that these courses have provided me with. I have additionally taken classes to better serve those with speech generating devices and also continue to take courses in pediatric articulation and language, pediatric feeding, and adult language and cognitive-linguistic communication. I worked in settings such as outpatient and acute care. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, and family-centric.
