Abigail Kunchandy

Licensed Occupational Therapist (M.S., OTR/L)

Accepts 11 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Abigail! I became an occupational therapist because I’ve always been drawn to helping people build confidence and independence in meaningful ways. After seeing the impact therapy had on patients recovering in an outpatient setting, I knew I wanted a career that combined healthcare, connection, and hands-on support.

During OT school, I discovered a passion for pediatrics and play-based therapy. With a lifelong love of working with children, I found joy in helping kids learn, grow, and participate more fully in their everyday lives through engaging, individualized care.

I’ve worked in pediatric outpatient settings, where I’ve evaluated and treated children with a variety of developmental and sensory needs. I’ve also completed the DIRFloortime® 101 course, which deepened my understanding of relationship-based, child-led, and play-focused therapy approaches.

I’m especially passionate about creating supportive environments where children feel empowered, confident, and motivated to build new skills.

My therapy approach is functional, client-centered, and highly individualized. I prioritize play, connection, and collaboration while helping each child strengthen independence, self-advocacy, and participation in daily life.
