How our dysarthria program works

When you extend speech therapy learning and practice into everyday life, you'll make faster progress. We built our client portal to make it easy to do just that.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

: Your speech therapist will choose from a variety of standardized or norm-referenced tests, informal measures (such as checklists and screeners), and client and caregiver/family input, for your evaluation. They may assess your ability to be understood by listeners, as well as how you produce speech sounds in words and sentences. The results will be used to develop a personalized care plan for your treatment, which typically includes 2 sessions per week.
: Review and reinforce the communication strategies that you're learning, such as verbal cues, visual cues, and altering the communication environment.
: Our experts demonstrate techniques for clear communication, such as strengthening your speech muscles to improve your overall intelligibility and increasing your breathing support for louder speech.
: Your speech therapist will assign easy ways to practice communication strategies during your everyday routines and social interactions.
: Get tips, support, and answers to questions from your speech therapist between sessions.
