About me

Hello! I'm Lyann. I became a speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2016. I became an SLP because I was interested in the field of special education. I have an aunt who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, and I wanted to be able to help others who needed a voice to be heard. I love working with children and adults. I have been working with children since the age of 14 as a Sunday school teacher, and I have a passion to work with children. I love that in this career I am able to work with children and adults who have difficulty with communication, swallowing, cognition, and social communication. I enjoy every minute of my job and treat others as if they were part of my own family. I love to see the smile on the parents' faces when they hear their child communicate for the first time. That is what this career is all about. I have been taught visual phonetics, which I have seen help many of my patients working on articulation skills. I have worked in outpatient rehab facilities, nursing homes, and hospital settings. My clinical style is individualized/personalized. I like to follow the child's lead. In addition, I do like routine-based sessions in which I have created structure. Parent teaching and involvement is very important when working with my clients. I want to make sure everyone who is working with the child is working as a team to reach the child's goals.

Our speech therapist is excellent! We love working with her. She's patient but she also pushes at the right time. It's been a great fit for the family.

Lyann was friendly patient, and helped me see progress from Day 1

Everything was great, I love how Lyann worked with my son and he actually will say sounds to her. But I saw that he will worked better with someone in person than digital.

Lyann is awesome. She’s patient and kind and keeps my son engaged. I feel like the only limitation is the system itself—when the 30 minute clock starts on the session I feel like there is no time for questions or feedback to the parent.

K.B./Feb 7, 2023

She had a lot of patience with him

W.M./Aug 31, 2022

She is very nice and courteous and was helpful in answering any questions I had

R.G./Jul 15, 2022

Therapist and sessions were excellent. Only had problems trying to find answers to questions related to administrative issues like how to notify when you need to reschedule. The website needs to have expanded self-service and make it easy to find. A few examples would be: 1) Need to reschedule? Do this. 2) Have billing questions? Get help here 3) How to use your FSA/HSA benefits to cover the costs. Click here. 4) how to switch therapists…

Kind and friendly
