About me

Hello! I’m Kori. I didn’t always know I wanted to be a speech-language pathologist (SLP). I first explored occupational therapy and education before discovering the field of speech-language pathology—a perfect blend of science, language, communication, and meaningful connection. Through shadowing and clinical training, I found a deep passion for supporting individuals with diverse communication needs. I’m especially drawn to advocacy work and enjoy helping clients discover their most effective and authentic modes of expression. I strive to provide effective therapy that combines evidence-based care with genuine human connection. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including home-based therapy, school-based environments (i.e., rural school districts, urban public schools, and charter schools), and private clinics. Each of these settings has allowed me to adapt my approach to best meet the unique needs of my clients. Throughout my career, I have pursued specialized training to better support clients with a range of communication needs. My continuing education has focused on orofacial myofunctional disorders, early intervention and language development, speech sound and phonological disorders, social/pragmatic language, receptive/expressive language, and AAC. I’m especially passionate about providing functional, evidence-based support that meets each client where they are and helps them build confidence and independence in their communication. In addition to direct clinical work, I have independently presented on the topic of orofacial myofunctional disorders, offering foundational knowledge to fellow professionals and highlighting key signs to watch for, along with guidance on when to refer to other trained providers, to ensure comprehensive care across the lifespan. These areas of focus have allowed me to serve a diverse caseload and collaborate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams to promote meaningful outcomes. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Kori kept my son engaged. She moved it along and kept his 6 year old's attention. She was able to capture his needs perfectly.
