About me

I have always had a heart for helping people and animals. Growing up in a small town in west Texas, I was taught to value people, diversity, hard work, and honesty from parents who always put others first. So, naturally, I followed my heart in college to a profession that would lead to a lifetime of helping others. I began my career as an assistant speech-language pathologist while putting myself through graduate school in Texas. Following graduation, I moved to the metro Detroit area of Michigan, where I worked in various settings including hospital, acute rehab, outpatient, nursing home, home health, and private practice. Eventually, life brought me back to the Texas panhandle, where I have worked in a variety of settings, but primarily home health with both adults and children. My passions are infant swallowing and feeding, apraxia of speech, and education of students and clinical fellows. I love to watch other clinicians grow and flourish, and I love to assist those in need find independence in both communication and feeding/swallowing.
