About me

Hi! I'm Tiffany. I received my graduate degree in speech-language pathology in 2005 from the University of Kansas. As a paraplegic, I received support from a variety of Physical Therapists throughout my childhood. One special Physical Therapist continued to mentor me through high school. She offered to let me shadow her in the therapy center in which she was employed. During this day, I fell in love with the profession of Speech-Language Pathology. Communication is so important for all areas of our lives. I have a great desire to help provide a voice to those with less natural means of communication or with those who face challenges in this specific area. I loved my PT who helped me to face my physical challenges, and I want to do the same for others in the area of speech and language. I have worked in the school, outpatient pediatric hospital, and in-home settings. I have attended many trainings for AAC, including LAMP, a variety of Tobii Dynavox CEUs, and general AAC trainings. I have coached and taught groups of teachers and parents in general AAC implementation in the classroom and in the home. I also have been trained in Tongue Thrust and in treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I would describe my clinical style as functional, client-centered, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.

I greatly enjoy spending time with my husband and dog at home watching movings, relaxing by the pool, or playing games. I am a big Disney fan and love going to Disney parks as often as I can. When I have the time, I love reading different fiction book series. Swimming is one of my favorite and most relaxing activities, which I could spend hours doing.
