About me

Hi! I'm Sofia. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2018. I became an SLP because I always knew I wanted a career that would allow me to work directly with people and elevate the lives of others. When I discovered this field during a psychology of language class during my time at UT Austin, it immediately felt right. Communication, in all of its forms, is such fundamental component of the human experience and it is a privilege to help others express themselves! I have received trainings and certifications in PROMPT, Modified Barium Swallow Study and Flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing competent, and SPEAK OUT!. I have worked in settings such as school, skilled nursing facility, private practice, and most recently in acute/inpatient rehabilitation. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
