About me

Hello! I'm Sarah. I became an speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2014 to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and coach to children and adults. I always wanted to help others learn and began tutoring while I was still in high school. As an adult, I first pursued a career in marketing and advertising, but couldn't shake my initial drive to help teach others. After research and reflection, I chose the career of speech-language pathology because it combined my love of teaching with aspects of science and psychology. It was the perfect choice for me, and I have loved every day of work ever since! My daughter loves that when she asks me what my "dream job" is...I can say, it's the one I have right now! I have been a member of an assistive technology evaluation team for five years in the public schools. Through that involvement I have learned how to evaluate students for communication devices and prepare successful funding requests for Medicaid/insurance to provide them to my students. I have worked in public schools - elementary, middle school, and pre-K and have also completed a graduate externship in a skilled nursing facility. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, family-centric, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.
