About me

Hi! I'm Myranda. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2023. I was inspired to change my career path and become an SLP after having the opportunity to work with other wonderful SLPs in the public school system as a student teacher. It was an opportunity to merge my knowledge of language development with my desire to assist students and adults communicate effectively. I have loved working with clients across age groups to meet personal communication goals and participate more independently in their environment. I have taken a continuing education course titled, "Autism Spectrum Disorders: Interventions for Communication and Learning," in which I learned how to effectively develop an intervention plan to support communication and learning for students with ASD. I was also trained in the administration of the Parkinson Voice Project, Inc. SPEAK OUT!® & LOUD Crowd® program in February 2021. Lastly, in graduate school, I took an elective medical speech course regarding voice and swallowing disorders in which I evaluated FEES and MBSS recordings to provide diagnoses. I have worked in settings such as schools, day habilitation, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
