About me

Hi! I'm Kristen. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2017. I became an SLP because I wanted to help others. I first learned about the field of Speech Language Pathology after I attended my cousins speech therapy session. At the time, I had not known about the field but when I saw the progress he made in being able to communicate and reduce the frustrations that were occurring, I knew I wanted to be that person to make a difference in someone else's life. Everyone deserves a voice and I was thrilled to be able to find a field to do that! I have attended trainings for DIRFloortime, LAMP Words for Life, S.O.S Approach to Feeding, and Lively Letters. I was a clinical supervisor at George Washington University in both the Social Communication Disorders and Accent Modification/Professional Speaking tracks. I worked in settings such as private practice, schools, university. I did externships at a skilled nursing facility and private practice. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
