About me

Hi! I'm Katie. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2023. I became an SLP after shadowing an SLP when I was in high school. It was amazing to see how speech therapy changed the functional, social and academic lives of clients. I've taken courses in augmentative and alternative communication, neurogenic language and cognitive disorders, acquired neuro-motor speech disorders, dysphagia treatment, Passy Muir Valve, language disorders (infancy, preschool, and adolescence), phonological disorders, and natural language acquisition in autism (echolalia to self generated language). I am trained in Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP). I have experience with interdisciplinary collaboration within a variety of settings, establishing partnerships with AAC specialists, teachers, MDs, OTs, PTs, RNs and neuropsychologists. I have worked in settings such as acute rehabilitation, acute care, public school (high school, adult school ages 18-22), and telepractice (preschool, middle school, high school, adult neurogenic). I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, and family-centric.
